The foundational values of Western Roofing’s approach to Indigenous Engagement and Inclusion are equality and fairness. We understand that our company and our Indigenous partners possess differing individual strengths but that together we are stronger as a partnered whole. Upon these foundational values, we have constructed a fourpillar approach to engagement and inclusion.

1. Proactive Engagement – We will engage positively and proactively.

2. Economic Benefit –We will ensure that as our company benefits economically from a project our Indigenous partners do as well.

3. Education, Training and Employment – In all opportunity we will make every effort to employ partner members. Our commitment to this is evidence by our ongoing contribution to the First Nations Capacity Fund.

4. Capacity Growth – we are committed to strengthening each Indigenous community by way of member and business development.

To further our commitment to Indigenous communities and to ensure we are acknowledging and understanding the strengths of our Indigenous partners, Western Roofing has retained the services of Leonard Jackson and Derek Orr of The Reach Group. Together we will plan and implement engagement and inclusion strategies in the Territories where we work. Our goal is to be working in partnership with local Indigenous communities on all projects, taking into consideration the concerns and directions of our Indigenous partners.
